20-year-old Kenyan teacher prosecuted for allegedly making gay advances at journalist

 

A 20-year-old male teacher has been prosecuted in Murang’a County arrested for allegedly trying to solicit sex from another man. The Nation Kenya reports. The man identified as Mr Godfrey Mburu Waithera reportedly sent explicit messages to a male journalist confessing his love for him. Mr Mburu was charged with four counts of improper use of a phone even though he denied the charges.


Reports are that Mr Mburu is a youth leader at Githioro PCEA church. He confessed that he had been introduced to homosexuality last year by a man that he identified only as Kuria. The case was fixed for hearing on March 7.

Mr Godfrey Mburu was later released on a Sh200,000 bond or a surety of the same amount. According to reports, Mr Mburu was arrested in Gatanga after he agreed to meet the journalist who had set a trap for him, and was in the company of officers disguised in plain clothes.
