Three teenagers arrested for kidnapping a 15-yr-old boy in Abuja

 

Three teenagers were prosecuted by an Abuja magistrate court yesterday after they were arrested for conspiring with a man to kidnap a 15-year-old boy, Musa Yusuf.

The elderly man identified as Soje conspired with the accused teenagers, Ibrahim Wada, Mohammed Umar and Musa Umar to kidnap Soje’s cousin on January 15 and later demanded N19,000 for his release.

The teenagers were however arrested at the point of collecting the ransom. They pleaded not guilty to the charges with claims that they were only asked by Mr. Soje to collect a debt payment from the victim’s uncle. Mr. Soje was unfortunately nowhere to be found during the arrest and is currently wanted by the Police.

The defence counsel, A.A Ohijiefor, pleaded with the court to grant the accused bail, assuring the judge that they will not obstruct the ongoing investigations, but the presiding magistrate, Shaibu Usman, denied the bail application and adjourned the case till March 3.
