Nigeria Drops to 67th on Latest Fifa Rankings

 

The Super Eagles slipped five places to be ranked 14th best African side behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, Tunisia, Congo DR, Guinea, Congo, Cameroon, Morocco and Mali.


Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, have dropped to 67th place in the latest Fifa world ranking released on Thursday.

The Super Eagles’ inability to defeat Egypt in the  2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification doubleheader in Kaduna and Alexandria – and losing the ticket to feature at the continental fiesta billed for Gabon. This is their second absence in a row.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina reclaimed top spot in world football from Belgium after back-to-back wins in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with Copa America holders Chile third in the world, ahead of South American rivals Colombia and World Cup winners Germany.
