Think You are Too Short, Your Height can be Surgically Enhanced
Growing up, we heard crazy stories of people who underwent medical
procedures to increase their height, but these tales were never proven,
and there was no documented evidence to indicate that such was possible.
A few years later, I read the ridiculous story of how footballer Lionel
Messi had to medically increase his height so as to get accepted in the
elite football club, Barcelona.
Though these were mere street fables sweetened by storytellers intent on winning the largest crowd, Business Insider has
just confirmed that in India, people can really, medically, increase
their height through a process called ‘cosmetic limb-lengthening
surgery’ which is currently booming in the country.
“I have so much confidence now,” said a a
24-year-old woman who is now 3-inches taller. her parents sold their
land for her to be able to afford the procedure. “I was just
4-foot-6-inches. People used to make fun of me and I couldn’t get a
job,” she told the Guardian. “Now my younger sister is doing it too.“
The report also adds that Indian women are, on average,
about 5 feet 3 1/2 inches tall, and their men are shorter then most men
in the world as they stand, on average, at 5 feet 4 3/4 inches.
It won’t be long before India is flooded by people who have been seeking an opportunity of this kind. Will you be one of them?
